Benefits for College (Scholarship Contract)

If you have a Scholarship you will receive.....

  • In-State Tuition

  • Full Tuition or Full room and board (usually a flat rate of $10,000)

  • Monthly Stipend of $420 for 10 months out of the year

  • $1000 for Uniform Commutation

  • $1200 for Books

  • The option to be an Active duty or a National Guard/Reserve Officer

    • Active Duty is a full-time job, National Guard or Reserve duty is one weekend a month; two weeks a year​

Benefit of Contract  (Non-Scholarship)

If you are under a non-scholarship contract you will receive.....

  • In-State Tuition

  • $1000 for Uniform Commutation

  • Monthly stipend of $420 for 10 months out of the year

  • The option to be an Active Duty or a National Guard/Officer

    • Active Duty is a full-time job, National Guard or Reserve duty is one weekend a month; two weeks a year​​

Simultaneous Membership Program (SMP)

The Simultaneous Membership Program gives cadets the opportunity to serve in the National Guard or Army Reserves while continuing their college education, the benefits of this are.....

  • In-State Tuition

  • Monthly Stipend of $420 for 10 months out of the year

  • Monthly drill pay of approximately $319 a month

  • The ability to use the Select Reserve GI Bill Benefits of $400 a month

  • Opportunity to receive up to $4500 a semester in State Tuition Assistance as a member of the Texas Army National Guard

  • Opportunity to participate in Monthly Drill and Annual Training to receive first-hand experience by shadowing current commissioned officers

  • Receive Hazelwood Benefits upon leaving the Texas Army National Guard

  • The choice of commissioning as an Active Duty or National Guard/ Reserve Officer

Benefits of Service

Officers in the United States Army are able to choose between 19 Branches that supervise over 150 jobs. These jobs can span between Signal (Communications), Adjutant General (Human Resources), Quartermaster/Transportation/Ordinance (Logistics/Supply Chain Mngt), Engineers, Aviation, Medical Service Corps (Nurses, Optometrists, Pharmacists, etc.), Armor, or Infantry

Serving as an Active Duty officer allows you the benefits of practicing and receiving world-class leadership training, having job security upon leaving college, and learning on the job skills that can be transferrable to a career in the civilian sector

Serving as a National Guard or Reserve Officer gives you the benefits of being able to maintain a civilian career while still being able to serve, it gives you a second source of income, and it gives you the opportunity to become an Active Duty Guard or Reserve soldier
